CAPE ENRAGE ADVENTURE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
In 2001, Cape Enrage initiated a formalized staff certification program with content equal to or greater than previous training regimens. Outlined here is the format of the certification program. There are four categories: Apprentice, Guide, Guide Master and Guide Master Instructor.

introduction to equipment

Two Guiding Apprenticeship in Rappelling and Climbing -rope skills and preparing
the client for adventure

Three Guiding Apprenticeship in Rappelling and Climbing -anchoring, rappel
techniques and site preparation
Level
Four Guiding Apprenticeship in Rappelling and Climbing -control, hazards
and rescue techniques

completion of Levels One to Four in
Apprenticeship and one season experience.

Two Rappelling and Climbing Guide -after completion
of Levels One to Four in Apprenticeship
and two seasons experience and

II of Apprenticeship

experience, all the above levels
of experience and certification,
climbing and rappelling log that
includes a minimum of five rappel
venues and twenty-five different
climb routes of levels of difficulty
averaging 5.7 or greater.

Any
Adventure Staff must have successfully completed Guide Apprentice
Levels One through Four in order to work with the public in a
guiding role. Guides always work in groups of two or more, one
of which is required to be minimum Level One Rappelling and Climbing
Guide.
