Mitch ShortMitch has been a career Firefighter/Paramedic with Riverview (NB) Fire and Rescue since 1990, presently holding the rank of Captain. Mitch is a Red Cross First Responder Instructor and a NBCC Fire Service Instructor. As Riverview Fire and Rescue’s Dive Rescue Team Leader, he is an ACUC Dive Master, a member of the International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists, a NFPA Certified Ice Rescue Instructor, and has participated in numerous underwater training exercises, and several water and ice rescue events.
Mitch has been involved in technical rope rescue since 1993 and has participated in a variety of high angle rescue training exercises with a local ground search and rescue team. Mitch directed Riverview Fire and Rescue’s Rope Rescue Team during a successful evacuation of a victim at Gibson Falls, NB.
